Welcome to Hedge Hills just a little bit about us and our operation. My wife, Rebecca, and I are both lifelong residents of Dekalb County in northwest Missouri. We both have a background in agriculture as we were raised on or around a farm. We both spent many hours in a milk barn in our youth and Rebecca has some experience in the show ring, having shown dairy cattle as a 4-H project. We have both owned small herds of beef cattle over the years and really had little knowledge of goats. Well, to be honest I had no knowledge of goats and Rebecca had a little knowledge of goats.                        

Raising beef cattle on our farm had been a dream of mine for most of my life and I began to realize that dream in the fall of 2004 with the purchase of 21 crossbred beef cows. Then with the wife and I both looking for a change of profession we began researching Boer meat goats. What we found was an animal that Rebecca could physically handle, was good natured, and had the potential to provide a good source of income on a limited number of acres. What we got was just that plus more. There has been little, except our two beautiful children, that has provided us with as much joy as watching the little four legged kids play. Now we have a farm that is providing us with both a source of income and a great sense of pride and joy.
